Copenhagen

Near the beginning of World War I, the great German physicist Werner Heisenberg paid a visit to an old friend and mentor, Niels Bohr, who lived in Copenhagen, hoping to get information from Bohr that would help him to build the nuclear bomb he was working on for Hitler. Since Bohr was part-Jewish and was working for the Allies, the meeting took on ominous and strained tones, as Michael Frayn's Drama Desk Award-winning play shows. The play premiered in London, where it won the 1998 Evening Standard and Critics' Circle Awards for best play. Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005. For personal use only. All rights reserved.
