Promise

Following the assassination of Alexander Devoncroix, the nearly unopposed leader of a shadow society of werewolves that secretly control much of world, his brother and heir, Nicholas, is nearly killed in a helicopter accident. When a woman named Hannah finds him and nurses him to health, she finds a book that tells of the history of werewolves and their relationship to humans. Meanwhile, Nicholas, a reactionary who objected to his brother's benevolence to humans, must come to terms with Hannah's kindness--an act incongruous with a race he had previously considered as nothing more than savages.
