PS2 - NHL 07
The NHL series by EA Games is back with NHL 07 for the PS2. The 2007 entry in the series includes some new features, an updated player roster, and the new skill stick that controls passing. For hockey fans, this update contains the best in hockey gameplay and comes at a fair price. The skill stick is the biggest addition to NHL 07, and while its power is really only shown off in the Xbox 360 version of the game, the PS2 version features the skill stick for passing. Pressing the stick to either side passes, while pressing forward does a saucer pass and backwards executes a drop pass. This new passing method makes it much easier to work the puck across the ice. Every game mode from NHL 06 returns, including single season, exhibition, quick game, multiplayer, and dynasty mode. New features in dynasty include a salary cap, a new trust system, and a European dynasty mode. The Czech Elite league also makes its first appearance in the series. A few mini-games also make the list, giving players a break for the straight hockey action. The teams list is just as complete as it has always been, but NHL 07 does add in some of the newer players to hit the ice and includes more unlockable extras like alternate uniforms and more stadiums.
